EARCOS WORKSHOP: EQ IN THE CLASSROOM

On 1st & 2nd October 2016, it was my honour to facilitate a weekend workshop with educators from Singapore and around the region. The workshop was sponsored by the East Asia Regional Council of Schools (EARCOS) and hosted by the UWCSEA Centre for International Education.

Those who attended brought an amazing amount of energy and enthusiasm! I thoroughly enjoyed facilitating the workshop, which covered specific competencies of emotional intelligence and individual brain styles and talents for use in the classroom. When I lead courses, I always learn so much from participants and this workshop was no exception, with many people sharing their related knowledge and connections.

I was blown away by the incredible feedback, which was overwhelmingly positive, including comments like, “Best PD since moving overseas,” and, “Excellent workshop – the most engaged I have been in a workshop in a long time!” Wow!

For me, it’s vital that teachers leave my workshops with practical strategies they can put into practice in their classrooms. Everyone was excited to try out different activities from the course, and some people put this into action first thing on Monday morning, sharing the photographic proof on their Twitter feed. The participants tweeted up a storm during the workshop-search for #TeachEQ to find out more.

If you’d like information about a workshop on emotional intelligence or Third Culture Kids for your school, please drop me a line and I’ll be happy to chat.
