REVIEW OF PARENT WORKSHOP: SUPPORTING TCKS

This week I had the absolute pleasure of facilitating a workshop for parents at UWC Dover in Singapore. The workshop objectives focused on practical strategies to support international children, sometimes known as ‘Third Culture Kids’ or TCKs. I know from researching and writing my doctorate alongside my practical experience as a teacher in an international school that the children of expat families can face several specific challenges.

The level of engagement and interest during the workshop was fantastic and fuelled some insightful discussions between parents. I always learn something new when I facilitate workshops and this was no exception. I was blown away by the positive feedback and parents’ enthusiasm to learn even more about how they can support their children. As a result, I’ll be developing a follow-up session; watch this space for more details!

I’m so excited about delivering this workshop again on October 4th at UWC East in Singapore. If you or a parent you know might be interested in attending, you can find out more or register at this link: https://www.uwcsea.edu.sg/centre/tck-east16
